A Look Inside the Home Kitchens of Celebrity Chefs

“Food is symbolic of love, when words are inadequate.” – Alan D. Wolfelt

Who doesn’t love food? Every time we channel surf, we stop at a delectable dish being tossed together on a cooking show. As much as many of us focus on eating healthy, celebrity chefs have us craving more. There’s something about them that’s enticing, and it’s not just their culinary skills. From their willingness to accept criticism to their creativity and ability to handle high-stress environments, their exceptional qualities have made them successful. And how we wish we had a glimpse into the kitchens of our favourite chefs! Does Giada De Laurentiis have a kitchen as bright as her personality? What accessories does Gordon Ramsay use? Fortunately, some of our favourite celebrity chefs have shared pictures of their personal kitchens on social media.

A Peek into the Kitchens of Master Chefs

While some of the big names have amazing modern kitchens, others have regular kitchen cabinets and islands. Let’s take a close look at some of the home kitchens of well-known chefs.

  1. Bobby Flay

A celebrity chef, restaurateur and reality TV personality, Bobby Flay has two kitchens at home – one inside, one outdoors. His indoor kitchen has a definite café ambience and includes modular elements like a commercial 10-burner stove, a griddle and a Salamander Broiler. But it’s (surprisingly) not his favourite place to cook. Instead, he prefers his stunning backyard kitchen. There’s everything you could possibly imagine to whip up a meal there, and his cooking sessions usually last over five hours. There’s a fridge, sink, several grills and a giant brick pizza oven that takes a full three hours to heat up.

  1. Giada De Laurentiis

Famous for her delicious Italian dishes, Giada De Laurentiis has graced several television shows like Giada in Italy, Giada at Home, Giada Entertains and Everyday Italian. Her kitchen is just what you might expect it to be – sleek, stylish, and ultra-modern, with a grey, black, silver and white colour palette. There’s enough space and fixtures to make it the epitome of a dream modern kitchen. From multiple cabinets and huge centre island to a massive sofa, her kitchen has everything to cook delectable dishes and hang out.

  1. Ann Gentry

A famous chef, restaurateur and cookbook author, Ann Gentry is a pioneer in vegan cooking. Her kitchen is extremely warm and homey, with a full-range counter space, an island and dedicated eat-in space. One thing that’ll instantly draw your attention is the rack of pots hanging over a small kitchen island, with pot lids stashed below. You’ll also find a compost bin for food scraps and an overstocked refrigerator with a wide variety of food, vegetables and condiments. There’s also a round wooden stool beside the stove that Ann keeps as a souvenir of her son. She remembers how it used to be his step stool for when he would help his mommy but couldn’t reach the counters yet. In her own words, “This room is truly the soul of the home.”

  1. Gordon Ramsay

A British chef, restaurateur, writer, television personality and food critic, Gordon Ramsay has a global chain of restaurants. And yet his heart lies in his own kitchen – a huge, airy affair with white walls and muted wooden cabinets. While the basic colour scheme is sage green and black, purple accents and lime green stools add vibrant touches. There are copper saucepans hanging over the cabinets, aside from all the knick-knacks, books and family photos that you’d expect in any regular kitchen.

  1. Ina Garten

Ina Garten, best known as the author of the Barefoot Contessa cookbooks and host of Barefoot Contessa on The Food Network, has a beautiful Manhattan apartment. In early 2018, she shared a photo of her Lacanche stove on Instagram, complete with pot rack. One of the rarest and best cooking tools in the world, the Lacanche is a huge deal as the company only produces 50 units per month for their exclusive customers. It definitely pays to be famous!

  1. Martha Stewart

From open cabinets and rolling kitchen islands to top-of-the-line tools, Martha Stewart’s kitchen has it all. A lover of sustainable products, she chose marble for her countertops and lacquered poplar with hardwood veneers for her custom cabinets. “I buy tools that will last forever,” says Stewart. “The rolling pin that I bought on my honeymoon is still my favourite.” The overhead pot rack is the undisputed centrepiece of her kitchen.
